RI Crisis Assistance Center

Everyone deserves to live a life free from violence. It's a basic human right.
Here at RICAC, our goal is to end domestic violence & sexual assault in Rhode Island.
That may sound pretty lofty, but we believe you have to start somewhere. Why not here?
Those of us who are connected to RICAC are all survivors of violence.
Domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, incest, rape.
We've walked the walk and know how lonely it can be. That's why we're here. We don't want anyone else to have to go down that path alone.
For most women, the first step to breaking the chain of violence is finding a safe place to stay. Our number one goal is to provide the resources for women to have a safe space to gather their thoughts and make choices about their futures.
After surviving personal violence, it can be very difficult to pull your life back together. Just performing the day to day task of living can feel overwhelming.
Sometimes, all you need to know is there's someone else in the world who understands how you feel.
We're here to listen.
We're here to help.
We're here to lean on and pass the tissue...
because sometimes that's all you need.
We work with local police departments, the Attorney General's office and all New England branches of the FBI.
We also work with colleges and universities, high schools, medical staff, civic organizations and individuals.
We're just a phone call away.
We'll be on the other end of the line.
And we'll be here if, or when, you need someone to talk to.
Because you're not alone.
We're here.
And sometimes, that's enough.
